etheria, love between them
introduction
this was a project i attempted in my university module fashion styling and its fundamentals in year 3, the concept was to explore love's duality. the radiant warmth and quiet stillness existing within the same soul. it looks at how love can make us feel both luminous and quiet, how we expand into light when we're happy, and retreat inward when we feel bare or vulnerable. the bright side represents the warmth, playfulness, and fullness of love the part of us that feels alive. soft pink, open fields, golden hour, flowers held loosely and the blue side represents love's minimal, calm and emotional honesty that comes when everything slows down. deeper tones, sharper light, quieter postures.

the shoot
we shot across an open field, moving through golden hour into blue hour and finally into night. the light did most of the work. the setting shifted naturally from warm to cool, and i followed it. in post, i leaned into that split deliberately. the bright side got soft, pink-hued warmth and a gentle dreaminess. the blue side got deeper tones, sharper highlights, more weight. same shoot, two completely different feelings.

etheria means the meeting point between the divine and the deeply human, between love's glow and its quiet ache. the photographs were laid out into a printed zine sequenced to move the reader from warmth to stillness, from fullness to quiet.

what i learnt
this was the first time i built a visual story from concept to print. i learnt how sequencing changes meaning the same image reads differently depending on what comes before it. how an edit isn't just colour, it's emotion. and how a zine forces you to commit to a narrative in a way a folder of images never does.
